DECEMBER 2023

With a major strategic decision, Ocrim is responding to the growing needs of the market and the steady rise in orders. To meet the ever-increasing demand while guaranteeing an optimal service to its customers, Ocrim has chosen to expand its production site, remaining faithful to its ties with the Cremona area.

After a careful analysis of the available space at the canal port, where 30,000 square metres of production areas already belong to the company, the ideal location for this expansion was identified. However, a review of production strategies has led to this area of the canal port being considered as suitable for other future projects, which will help maintain the strong link with that area of Cremona.
The search for new solutions, therefore, led the Antolini family - Ocrim's shareholder - to locate and purchase a production site of about 20,000 square metres in Via Milano, on the outskirts of the city and only 300 metres from the company's headquarters in Via Massarotti. This is a currently disused area that once belonged to the historic Cremona-based company "Officine meccaniche Umberto Piacenza", world famous for the design and construction of lorry trailers, from 1920 until the 2000s. A strategic action, but also aimed at preserving the historical heritage of this production area and thus protecting a certain “sentiment” and strengthening the link with the city of Cremona. The architectural structure of the existing production part will be maintained and work will be carried out to consolidate, completely renovate, upgrade and reclaim the area to accommodate part of Ocrim's production. Work will begin in early 2024 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.

This significant commitment marks a further step in Ocrim's path of growth, with the continued support and trust of customers around the world.
Cremona is more and more a landmark of the milling scene, highlighting the success of the strategy undertaken by the Antolini family and the entire Ocrim team. The goal of being a major player in the market, with a counter-cultural approach aiming at totally in-house focused production has brought tangible results.
Ocrim has extended its presence on a global scale, touching several continents and numerous countries, both long-standing and newly explored or neglected for years. All this tells us that it was crucial to keep our manufacturing roots firmly planted in Cremona, the city where Ocrim was founded 78 years ago thanks to Guido Grassi from the Order of Merit for Labour.
The link with Cremona, considered as a bridge between the city and the rest of the world, has always characterised Ocrim's approach to work. In recent years, this bond has been further strengthened, consolidating Ocrim's reputation as a global company with firm roots in the historical and productive fabric of the city.
